Bio

Matthew earned his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine, where he studied topological phase transitions and modification of electronic properties with strain in hafnium pentatelluride. He joined the Palmstrøm group in the Fall of 2024 to pursue his PhD in Mechanical Engineering. He currently studies the MBE growth of boron arsenide and thermal transport measurements of materials. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking and basketball.
